Changing default documents

A default document tells the web server how to behave when it receives a request for your site that does not specify a specific page. For example, when a web server receives a request for http://yourdomain.com, how should it react? You can set the web server to automatically display any document titled default.htm, followed by default.asp, etc., or any other name or type of file you want.

To change default documents:

  1. Click on the List Web Sites link in the Domain Manager menu.

  2. Click on the button.

  3. Click on the tick box next to the Enable Default Document field.

  4. Enter the names of the documents that you want processed first in order, each followed by a comma and no space.

  5. Click on the button when you have finished.
