Adding a statistics site |
Resellers can add new statistics sites for their clients at any time. Statistics are a required feature for many web sites, and Hosting Controller enables you to set a variety of settings for the stats site.
Note: This option is available to Reseller user only.
To add a statistics site:
Click on the Add Stats Site link in the Statistics Manager menu.
Choose the site to enable stats from the Select Web Site drop-down list.
Select IIS log files format from Log File Format drop-down box. By default, the log file format is automatically detected, but you can select the different format from the list.
Set the log path and the output directory for the statistics site in the Log Path and Output Directory fields. These paths are automatically selected but if the paths are different, you my change it from Browse button.
Set the log scan interval from Log Scan drop-down select box. This is the interval after which stats server will scan the site logs to generate up-to-date statistics. An interval of 24 hour is recommended to minimize resource usage.
Select the site owner from Default Account drop-down box. This account will be allowed to see the site statistics after providing valid password.
Specify the file names that the web server defaults
to when a visitor enters a URL without a specific file name in Home
Pages field. Separate multiple file names with spaces. You can
enter up to 255 characters. Doing so reports all references to the home
page whether or not the visitor specifically included the file name, making
the home page hit count more accurate.
For example, if you specified your Home Page File Names as default.htm
and the Web Site URL as http://www.WebTrends.com, a hit to
http://www.WebTrends.com/ is identified as http://www.WebTrends.com/default.htm.
A hit to
http://www.WebTrends.com/reports/ is identified as a hit to
http://www.WebTrends .com/reports/default.htm
Provide IP that you want to exclude from counting in Exclude IPs field.
Click on the button.
