Hosting Controller Service Pack 4 for v.2002 Build 3 (Primary Installer) – February 04, 2003

Hosting Controller Service Pack 4 is another FREE upgrade for our valuable customers. It will install exciting new features to your Hosting Controller and it addresses several bug fixes as well.

New Features With This Service Pack

• Most Advanced Billing System - Service Pack 4 will install the most advanced billing system offered in any hosting control panel today. Following are the key features of new billing system.
  
  
• Ability to turn OFF billing system completely. This will hide EVERY billing related option in control panel
• Two types of invoicing - Prorated Invoicing and Non Prorated Invoicing.
• Ability to Turn On/Off Invoicing or Invoice emails
• Ability to Enable Gateways only while keeping billing (Invoicing) OFF or ability to enable billing only while keeping gateways OFF. The Control Panel will adjust itself accordingly
• Support for EVERY Gateway in the world including PayPal, WorldPay, Authorize.Net and LinkPoint
• Automatic & Manual Invoicing. If Payment Service is running, Invoicing will be automatic otherwise You may generate invoices manually for selected or all customers
• Multi-Currency Support - Ability to add your own currency to system
• Off-line payment registration
• Invoices are Settled against Payment (One-to-one Correspondence)
• E-mail alerts for both Host & Customer when invoice becomes due
• E-mail Reminders of Non-Payment
• Automatic Account/Website deactivation on Non-Payment (Configurable)
• Automatic Account/Website activation after payment
• Automatic credit card charging when Invoice become due (Configurable)
• Complete Invoice/Payment searching feature
• Automatic Charge deactivation when Payment is declined (Configurable)

• Advanced Bandwidth Monitoring - Bandwidth monitoring is very important for any web host. Service pack 4 will install powerful bandwidth monitoring on your Hosting Controller server.
  
  
• Warning emails when bandwidth usage reaches near to the allowed limit (Configurable)
• Automatic selling of additional Bandwidth to customer (Configurable)
• Detailed Bandwidth usage reports for Host, Reseller and Web Admins.
• To configure bandwidth monitoring, login and click Bandwidth Settings under Preferences.

Note: Bandwidth usage reports can be further improved. You are welcome to send your suggestions to bandwidth@hostingcontroller.com.

• Rich Account Statistics on Login - Hosting Controller now displays rich resource usage and account statistics on login. Same place provides vital information about the software version and important hyperlinks as well.

• Host to Reseller Auto Sign-up - Now Host may automatically signup resellers through Auto Sign-up feature. Login as HostAdmin and click Auto Sign-up to get the URL for auto sign-up. Hyperlink the URL anywhere on your site for automatic reseller sign-ups.

Important Change

• This service pack will encrypt your Hosting Controller license. Encrypting the license is particularly useful for data centers and provides a safeguard against possible license theft. After applying service pack, you will see an encrypted string in place of Hosting Controller license. The procedure of setting license key in HC is same as was before.
  
  
• Users of MailEnable mail server may now create new mail accounts right from Hosting Controller.
  
  
• Hosting Controller creates 2 MX record entries in DNS. You may now set the priority of these entries from Preferences->Nameserver Settings.
  
  
• Auto billing right is revoked from web admin and given to the host. Now only host may select which users to auto bill.

Bug Fixes In This Service Pack

• Fixed a bug where a blank page was displayed on List DNS Zones page when there was no zone in the DNS. Now a proper message will be displayed.

• Fixed a DSN bug where it was possible to create two DSN with same name and the second DSN overwrites the first DSN.
  
  
• Fixed a minor security issue with a statistics server.

• Mail header problem reported on Forum is fixed.

• Listing & Paging issues on several places in control panel are fixed.

• User and Website listings are in sorted order now.

• Tab sequence on Credit Limit form is set.

• Fixed mailbox creation bug in MailEnable.

• If gateways are disabled then Credit Card option in menu will be hidden from customer.

• User name in Auto Sign-up previously allowed space in it which is not appropriate. This bug is fixed.

• Fixed a bug in ticketing system where ticket email was not going to the host.

• Fixed the hosting setup email where email shows FTP & Control Panel password for current users as well, where as it shall display only Mail password to user because control panel & FTP password remains unchanged.

• Fixed several small bugs in auto sign-up.

• Hosting Controller will now create PTR entry in DNS.

• An e-mail receipt of off-line payment is now sent to the customer.

• Fixed few small bugs in plan manager.
  

IMPORTANT

Make sure you have Internet Explorer Service Pack 1 on the server otherwise unexpected Hosting Controller behavior is expected. You may download this from http://microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.asp.
