Hosting Controller Service Pack 2 for v.2002 Build 3 (Primary Installer) – November 06, 2002

Hosting Controller Service Pack 2 available for v.2002 Build 3. Service Pack 2 is a major service pack with IceWarp 5 support and customizable auto sign-up.

New Features With This Service Pack

- New Powerful Auto Sign-up- The auto sign-up is increasingly getting popular and there was demand for the option to customize auto sign-up with click of a button. We have therefore changed the design of auto sign-up and provided flexible and truly powerful customization option. In addition, NOW each reseller can customize his own auto sign-up pages to reflect his corporate look.

How do I customize sign-up?: You have two options:

1. You may set company banner and corporate colors through provided interface. Click on "Settings" link in "Auto Sign-up" menu item.
2. If you require more customization (change the design of auto sign-up pages, add new menu items, hyperlinks etc) then this can be done easily by editing the XSL templates. Each reseller has an "AutoSignup" folder in his "resources" folder and there HC places all the templates that the reseller can edit and customize.
   NOTE: Knowledge of XSL is necessary for editing the XSL templates. Be careful when editing the templates. If something goes wrong during editing, you may copy fresh templates from "hosting\XSL\English" folder.

- New Powerful Disk Usage Monitoring Service - With this service pack, we are introducing improvements to disk usage feature. Following are the new features & improvements:

1. Detailed disk usage reports based on user plans. The reports are comprehensive and provide the detail of each and every folder under his administration. The new service is powerful enough to calculate the disk usage by MS-SQL database both on local machine and remote and disk usage of e-mails by any supported mail server including IceWarp , IMail, MailMax, MailEnable, VOPMail, Post.Office, XMail and SendMail (On Linux).
2. Ability for Host & Reseller to set disk usage alert level and e-mail alerts. This can be set from Preferences->Disk Usage Settings. The alert e-mails provide detail to user about his current disk usage statistics. Please note that no automatic account disabling is provided because majority of customers wanted only alerts.
3. The Disk Quota feature is though still there, but now it acts only as safety valve. Hosting Controller sets disk quota for user according to his purchased plan but this only prevents customer from uploading more than allowed disk quota. For actual disk usage statistics, always refer to Disk Usage link in control panel.

Note: Hosting Controller Disk Quota Service calculates Disk Usage for all accounts at 2:00 a.m every night and populates database with up-to-date disk usage statistics..

- Support for IceWarp Mail Server Version 5.x - Simply enable IceWarp mail server in your HC Preferences and click on Save Settings button (HostAdmin->Preferences->Mail Settings).

- Improvements in Auto Billing Option - Provided the option to set Auto Billing Activation Time and Max number of Attempts in case of declined transactions. These option can be set from Preferences->Payment Gateway->Gateway Configuration->Auto Billing Settings.

- Support of Simple DNS as Secondary DNS Server - Provided support for Simple DNS as secondary DNS server.

Bug Fixes In This Service Pack

- Fixed a bug in shared SSL setup where anonymous user was set incorrect therefore bringing NT authentication box.

- Fixed ODBC DSN bug where if there was no ODBC DSN on system, HC fails to create new DSN and says "DSN Already Exists".

- Fixed several Simple DNS bugs including remote Simple DNS zone creation, zone reload problem and duplicate zone entries problem. Also provided support for secondary Simple DNS Plus. Simple DNS now works very well. Please download and apply Secondary HC SP2. Don't forget to configure DCOM afterward.

- When user try to enable Auto Billing, they get error "70900290 : Unable to update the record". This error was because unavailability of user credit card on file. It is fixed.

- Fixed several bug in plan manager including resource display problem and inability of user to create more domain even if there is extra website resource in his purchased plan. Also fixed bug where unavailable plans are still available to webadmins.

- Fixed LiveStats stats creation problem and few other bug in it. Interface is also improved.

- Fixed few bug in MS DNS and Secondary MS DNS setup. Please download and apply Secondary HC SP2. Don't forget to configure DCOM afterward.

- Fixed WebAlizer bug where previously "/Admin" was hard coded therefore if reseller sets different control panel name in his preferences then WebAlizer stats fail.

- Fixed FTP user deletion bug where user was not getting deleted form database.

- Fixed Names4Ever quota problem. Previously WebAdmins can register as many domains as they want through Names4Ever without the quota being checked.

- If reseller hasn't created any plan and goes to create a website, he sees an empty list box there. Now reseller is denied from creating a site unless he has a plan defined.

- Synchronized many options between Preferences and HC Settings utility.

- Fixed bug where when remote mail is selected (with IMail) then Mail Server combo box is displayed empty.

- Fixed few bug in FrontPage menu option.

- Fixed many other small bugs.
